Six Sentence Sunday :: Wicked: Leather and Lace – Contemporary Romance

Welcome to Six Sentence Sunday! Since the release of the Wicked Anthology is coming soon, I’ll be posting some of my favorite lines from the series, one book each week, until release day. This week’s six comes from Book 2 in the Wicked Series,  Wicked: Leather and Lace featuring Luke Harris, lead guitarist for the band, and his leading lady, Roxy. Roxy has just been caught snooping in Luke’s apartment and what she found is a bit of a shock. “You have a stripper pole in your bedroom.”  “Care to give it a try?” he said, shrugging off his coat and tossing it to the sofa.  “I’m sure there are others more qualified at dancing around poles than I am.”  Luke raised one eyebrow at her, that devilish smirk making an appearance. “I’d much rather have you dance around my pole.”  The look on his face told her he wasn’t talking about that stripper pole. Wicked: The Seriesby Lily Graison The four men who make up the rock band, Wicked, the hottest act to hit the scene in years, have earned their wicked status without much help. When you can have any woman you want, how do you convince the one you can’t live without her?  This Anthology will include ALL four books in the Wicked Series. Six Sentence Sunday :: Wicked: Tempt Me Not – Contemporary Romance

Welcome to Six Sentence Sunday! Since the release of the Wicked Anthology is coming soon, I’ll be posting some of my favorite lines from the series, one book each week, until release day. This week’s six comes from Book 1 in the Wicked Series,  Wicked: Tempt Me Not, featuring Devin Shaw, lead singer for the band, and his leading lady, Holly. In this scene, Devin is contemplating life and Holly’s rapid-fire wit strikes a nerve. “Why does my life suck so bad?”  “Because you’re an asshole and have no manners?”  Devin opened one eye, turning his head to look at her. “You’re not nearly as cute as you think you are.”  “I don’t think I’m cute at all,” Holly grinned. “Just honest.” Wicked: The Seriesby Lily Graison The four men who make up the rock band, Wicked, the hottest act to hit the scene in years, have earned their wicked status without much help. Writer Wednesday: What I’m Working On

It’s been a while since I’ve done a ‘Writer Wednesday’ update and with everything I have on my To Do list, my timeline is getting a bit shifted. I now only have two projects planned for the rest of the year. Way back at the first of the year, I had visions of another 5 books (paranormals) being added to my list of releases this year but apparently my head was in the clouds. I can’t get them done even if I wrote every day, all day long, from now til December. It just won’t happen. What I do have is The Wicked Anthology (all 4 Wicked books in one) coming soon in eBook format and print. I also have His Brother’s Wife, a stand alone novel that takes place in our fictional town of Willow Creek. We’ll get to catch up with the character’s we’ve already met and see how life’s been treating them as well.  For you fans of the Willow Creek series, I have plans on at least three more stories based in that little frontier town. There’s a new Doctor coming, new characters who we haven’t met yet and some where down the road, Alexandra Avery is going to grow into a woman, wearing her trousers, spitting, cussing, and still getting into trouble. If all those books yet to be written isn’t enough, there’s also the print books I want to get ready to go and with the convention next year, well, I sort of ‘have’ to have them! I’ll be spending the next several months (and part of 2013) getting all those formatted and then the painstaking task of re-reading all the books to make sure they’re as close to perfect as I can get them. I don’t have a definite release date for the Wicked Anthology or His … Keep Reading!

Indie Romance Convention – I’ll be there!

Back in July I received an email from a lady who was putting together an Indie Romance Convention who asked if I’d like to take part. I’ve never attended a romance author convention but I’d been to my fair share of sci-fi conventions (DragonCon still being the largest I’ve attended.) I was tickled to be asked and my first instinct was to say yes! Then the fear of failure set in. All those scary ‘what if’ scenarios start playing inside my head, the biggest one being, “What if” no one bothered to approach my signing table? My cellphone doesn’t have games. What will I do for a whole weekend?  I finally pushed that doubt and fear aside and told my Hubby I was going to do it anyway. If nothing else, I would get the opportunity to meet a great list of authors and bloggers so it was win-win anyway I looked at it. I emailed Laurie back and said to sign me up! The list of authors attending is small but that doesn’t mean they aren’t great authors. Many of them are bestsellers and currently hold ranking position on Amazon.Com and other retailers. As this is the first event, everyone is just getting their toes wet, so I know every year will get bigger and better. Below is the list of particpating authors signed up to appear. Registration is now open for those wishing to attend. They’re also looking for volunteers to help out in a few areas. For all the details, visit the Indie Romance Convention website. The Rancher Release Date

I’ve had a steady stream of emails and messages from people asking about THE RANCHER so I thought I’d make a small post to keep everyone updated. When I set this series up, I had planned on releasing the stories one every other month and it worked perfectly doing it that way until I hit book 4, which I had stated would be released on July 2nd. That was yesterday and still, no book. Most of you already know I’m a ‘pantster’, meaning…I write by the seat of my pants. I don’t ‘plan’ my books out in advance. Well, not much planning, anyway. I never have. I have this weird way of doing things. For some reason, if I ‘know’ how a book plays out from beginning to end, the muse doesn’t see the need to write it because…well, we know how it ends. Why bother? From the time I started writing way back in 2002, all I’ve ever done was ‘get an idea’, a small seed of a plot and it takes me less than a few days to know ‘where’ I want to go with the story. A few major scenes to include and I then come up with a title. With no more than those few pieces of information, I can then sit down and write. And most of the time, I don’t have any problems. Not the case with THE RANCHER. Without giving too much away, a key character didn’t ‘work’ the way I thought he would so I had to stop and re-think the direction of the story only, nothing I came up with seemed to work out right. I still had more questions than answers. I spent hours brainstorming with fellow friend and author Candy Nicks and still nothing. I sat at my desk … Keep Reading!

A New Approach To Blogging

I’ve been in a ‘Blogging Funk’ lately, as many of you may have noticed. And it’s not entirely my fault. There’s so many ‘How To’ articles out there telling authors to do this…do that…you ‘must’ always do this and… it’s a bit overwhelming. I think, in the end, everything is scheduled to the point no one knows where they are and the effect you were trying to create is lost. Which is where I am at the moment. I used to blog several times a week but I’ll admit, its a time suck. Trying to ‘think’ of things to say/do every week is draining and after spending that time, getting the posts made in advance, it’s like crickets around here. No one comments or engages the page and it causes that little voice in the back of my head to whisper…you did it wrong. Which leads to thinking…why bother? So I didn’t. For weeks. But I hate thinking like that. I started this blog back in 2005 and back ‘then’ I just posted what I wanted, whether that was about my books or my dogs. I enjoyed it. It was a release, so to speak. I’ve been thinking for days now to just shut my blog down but I like being able to post things where my ‘space’ isn’t limited. I enjoy Facebook and Twitter but with word restrictions, it makes it very hard, so…I’ve decided to use this blog as a journal of sorts. No schedule’s (well, except for ManCandy Monday! *grin*) and just post what I want. You  may get book news one day and the daily trials of the dogs and cats tearing up my house the next. If no one responds…I’m okay with that too because I’m not looking for interaction but if I get it, great. I think that’s the difference in what … Keep Reading!
