Story Complete!

Wicked 2: Leather and Lace is done! Well, the first draft if finished. I exceeded my target word count by a few thousand, which is always good, but we’ll see how much of that remains once the edits are done. I was treated to a steak dinner last night in celebration of my accomplishment and you’ll never guess who we saw. Billy Ray Cyrus!!!! Okay, so it wasn’t really Billy Ray but dude looked JUST like him! 92′ version, that is. He even had the awesome-tastic mullet, with long hair. It was like a train wreck. I could not stop staring. LOL I have Wicked 3 open, Christians story, and I’m itching to start it. I promised myself a break this weekend and that’s what I intend to do. I have a handful of video rentals waiting so it’s just me, the DVD player, and a bunch of sappy movies. After my miraculous 13-day, 30,000-word Christmas story, and finally getting wicked 2 finished, I deserve a break. One in which I’m off to enjoy despite Christian whispering in my ear. Have a great weekend! All material &copy2005-2012 to Lily Graison

Slow Going

Blah….I’m SO tired! My week-long vacation ended Sunday, and Monday, it was back to work, at 6am, no less! Talk about sucking out your will to live! I came home from work yesterday, fixed supper, watched a movie, and crashed. I didn’t write one single word on Wicked 2. I’m not doing much better today, unfortunately. I do have the story open but I’ve only fiddled with what I’ve already written. No ‘new’ words. *sigh* My last day of work before our Christmas break is December 12th (that is unless we get no more orders between now and then) then I’ll have 3 whole weeks off. I hope to get wicked2 finished (I’m at 70% complete now) and get started on Wicked 3, Christian’s story. I’m already half in love with Christian. His story is plotting out to be more on the ‘funny’ side. I’ll not spoil you and let you in on ‘why’ that is, though. I will say, ‘he’s’ not a funny guy, but his circumstances…well, I just want to squeeze him. He’s too loveable. I’ve posted a WIP (works in progress) meter on the sidebar there so you can see what I’m currently writing and where I’m at. It’s helped me too. I can finally see light at the end of the tunnel!!! Speaking of the light…It’s getting on dark here which means, it’ll be bedtime soon. If I’m going to write on this story, I best go do that. Later! All material &copy2005-2012 to Lily Graison

Happy Thanksgiving!

I snuck away from the kitchen for a few minutes of down time. I’ve been cleaning and cooking since early this morning in preparations of my family coming today. We’ll have a house full this evening and I know I won’t get another chance to even see the computer today, let alone sit down in front of it. Although not everyone celebrates Thanksgiving, I want to offer a Thank You to all my readers. Your emails and comments mean a lot to me. Writing is a very solitary job. It’s just you, a computer keyboard, and the imaginary characters inside your head. Getting a chance to share their worlds with you and having you respond to them makes it all worth while. I appreciate everyone who has purchased a book, or read one of my free stories, and took the time to let me know you enjoyed it. Let your loved ones know how much they mean to you today. They will never tire of hearing it. Have a great, safe, day and don’t eat too much!!! Hapyy Thanksgiving!! Lily All material &copy2005-2012 to Lily Graison

Teaser: That First Christmas

Since I have the christmas story cleaned up, I thought I’d post an excerpt for it. The story goes ‘live’ on December 7th at Alinar Publishing . Meredith Gunter has always been Daddy’s little girl. Spoiled all her life, she’s never had to ask for anything and expects to get exactly what she wants. When she wrecks her car on the way home from college for Christmas break, she finds herself stranded on the mountain in the middle of a snowstorm, in a one-room cabin with a man she can’t help but want. Travis Gregory has lived alone on the mountain for the last four years. He has little contact with the outside world and prefers it that way. When he spots a girl on the side of the road, his conscience won’t let him abandon her. The redhead captivates him instantly. Worlds collide when Travis and Meredith try to co-exist in his one room cabin until the storm breaks. Can they fight the growing attraction when the nights get longer and the storm isolates them from the rest of the world? Can two people, from such different worlds, ever truly be happy together? Excerpt Meredith Gunter sat stunned, staring out the front window of her car. The tree she’d run into laid across the cold, bent metal of her brand new car. Smoke billowed from under the crumpled hood and when she looked behind her, up the steep incline she’d just driven her car down, a bubble of hysterics surfaced and she let out a series of ear shattering screams. With her lungs aching, her throat hoarse, and her entire body shaking, Meredith took deep breaths to try and calm down. She closed her eyes, hummed quietly to center her thoughts, and felt better when she opened them. A … Keep Reading!

My Yearly Reading List

I spent today clearing out my downstairs bookshelf. That thing was busting at the seams with books I’ve read this year. I found a few I want to read again and thought I’d list them here in case anyone is looking for something good to read. Now, it really doesn’t take much to entertain me, and while some of these books were only ‘okay’ some were fabulous and I’ll probably read them over and over again…Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander series has already sucked me in twice this year. LOL I’ve placed a ( * ) beside the authors I thoroughly enjoyed and will definitely read again. The more stars, the more I enjoyed them. All of these books can be found on Amazon, my home away from home. *wink* Diana Gabaldon *****OutlanderDragonfly in AmberVoyagerDrums of AutumnThe Fiery CrossA Breath of Snow and Ashes C.L.Wilson ****Lord of the Fading LandsLady of Light and ShadowKing of Sword and Sky Julie Garwood ****The BrideThe WeddingSaving GraceThe SecretNicholas Sparks **A Bend in the RoadDear JohnThe ChoiceThe Rescue Heather GrothausThe Highlander Melissa MayhueThirty Nights with a Highland Husband Paula Quinn **Laird of the MistsA Highlander Never Surrenders Kinley MacGregorMaster of DesireCharming the HighlanderBorn in SinKnight of DarknessThe Warrior Karen Marie Moning ****Beyond the Highland MistTo Tame a Highland WarriorThe Highlanders TouchKiss of the HighlanderThe Dark HighlanderThe Immortal HighlanderSpell of the HighlanderInto the Dreaming Kresley Cole ***A Hunger Like No OtherNo Rest for the WickedWicked Deeds on a Winter’s NightDark Needs at Night’s EdgeDark Desires After DuskIf You DareIf You DesireIf You Deceive Gena Showalter **The Darkest NightThe Darkest KissThe Darkest PleasureThe Nymph King Janet Chapman **The Seduction of His WifeTempting the HighlanderOnly with a HighlanderLoving the HighlanderCharming the HighlanderWedding the Highlander Julia Quinn **Mr. Cavendish, I PresumeThe Lost Duke of Wyndham (currently reading) As you can … Keep Reading!

New Christmas Story

Check out the pretty cover! I JUST finished the story. Well, the first draft, rather. I still have a few re-writes to do on it and the dreaded edits. I’ll post an excerpt as soon as I get it cleaned up a bit. It’s scheduled to be released on Dec. 14th so I’m in a crunch for time. I need to get this cleaned up and sent to my editor ASAP so no more procrastinating! All material &copy2005-2012 to Lily Graison

New Story

Wow…3 months since I’ve updated the blog. I’m not surprised, really. I’ve been on a sabbatical of sorts. I’ve lazed my days away reading. 53 novels since May. I realized last week I couldn’t continue being a slug and came back to my computer. Apparently all the reading helped though. I wrote 77 total pages this week. O_O Yeah, I’m shocked too! I’m the slowest writer I know. Literally. But, I have a christmas story that’s half done. I managed 19 pages yesterday alone. I can’t recall ever writing that many on one day. Sad, I know, but tis my life. I’ll post excerpts for it when I get it cleaned up. I also worked a little bit on Wicked 2: Leather and Lace. That’s Luke and Roxy’s story. It’s been wicked fun to write, too. lol Luke is a bad, bad boy! I actually can’t wait to get back to their story. So far, I haven’t been temtped to play with it in the midst of this christams short. I do that. Alot. Dabble in several stories at once. Probably why I can’t ever get anything done. LOL OKay, I’m procrastinating now. I should be writing. Later!
